Mum likes reading, decorating, shopping with the girls, and Starbucks. She also feels funny writing in the 3rd person. Papa (also known as Sparky) is currently looking at me with a blank stare having asked him to add something about himself to the blog. (Now he wants to say something) The only thing he loves more in life than music and Coke is his wife and kids. (Awww...) :) Little Lotte is a genius on the computer and makes me fall over laughing every day with her quick wit. She loves computers and animals. Sweet Pea abandoned her family and moved to Phoenix for work and is now married as of 2/28/06. She is beautiful and smart and the most nurturing person I know. She gave me the greatest gift ever when she made me a grandmother. I am the proud Mum Mum to Andrew Christopher. There are no words to describe the joy of having a grandson!

Withdrawing my Nomination

Potential Mrs. McCartneys queue up
By Ellen Futterman
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
05/30/2006

...Last week, in the wake of McCartney's separation after four years from Mills, I asked readers who would be a good match for McCartney.

"Heather has no clue what she is letting go of," wrote Dana, who went on to nominate herself as the next "Mrs. Paul McCartney." She figures in addition to being a diehard Beatles fan, specifically a Paul girl, her first name is the same as McCartney's first and beloved wife, Linda.

"Destiny," Dana declared.

Of course there is one tiny sticking point: Linda Dana has been married to Mark Dana for the past 28 years. Still, she assured me, that's no problem.

"This isn't anything Mark hasn't heard from me before," Dana said. "It's friggin' Paul McCartney. I think at this point, (Mark) would put me on the plane himself." ...

Sigh............

Dear Paul,

After much consideration, I respectfully withdrawl my hat from the ring to be your new wife. Yes, yes, I know - we both thought I would NEVER say such rubbish but alas, I confess that I cannot leave my husband of 26 (27 in August) years. Crazy as it may sound, I am more in love with him today than I was when we met.

Would you be there for me when I gained weight, lost it, gained it again, and then tried to lose it again? Would you bother to learn the ridiculously long name for the drink I order at Starbucks, like he has? Would you switch sides of the bed with me, in the middle of the night, simply because I am having trouble sleeping and "maybe this side will be better!"? Will you ask me if I need something, anything, numerous times a day just because you want to dote on me and take care of me? Would you be willing to do the laundry every week because I don't push buttons on an ipod, let alone a washing machine?

How about moving my room? I've been teaching for 12 years so I have collected LOTS of stuff. Are you willing to move my room? In 100 degree heat? Will you sit in the room with me while I set it back up again? Will you bring me unlimited diet pepsi while I am setting up the room?

Will you tell me that you love me every single day, many times a day and mean it? Are you going to remain calm even though I just spent $150.00 at the grocery store but I don't feel like cooking and ask you to pick up Chinese on the way home? Do you know what makes me laugh, cry, angry, and sad? Will you be the greatest father in the world to my two princesses?

Give my best to the Queen. Maybe in another lifetime. I just happen to already be married to "My Love."

Thank God for Little Girls...

Today I was unable to attend the funeral of a friend's daughter. The end of the year is a difficult time to come up with subs. I called a mutual friend to let her know what I heard about the situation and she was able to attend and I am glad for that. I had the brother of the girl who died in my 4th grade class years ago. She was 21 when she died last Saturday. She was living in Phoenix and was estranged from her mother. I cannot, will not, even comprehend the way my friend must feel. The girl, Amber, died of an epileptic seizure. Ironically, one the the things that caused the girl to stop speaking with her mother was that mom wanted her to take medication and the girl refused. The fought over this a lot. Of course, there were other issues but last Satuday, as she was having a seizure, her boyfriend wanted to take her to the hospital. She refused saying that they would make her take medication which required her not to drive for a year. She couldn't do that. She had school. And work. She was just tired and needed to sleep. She went to bed and never got back up. So I guess I am processing two things in my head. One, the death of a young girl and two, the fact that we rush and rush and say such silly things as "I can't do this... because I have to do that..." and then you end up dead and you cannot do the things you wanted to do anyway. It's hard wrapping my head around all of this.

But here's one thing I am taking away from this. I am going to tell you how incredibly blessed I am. My daughters - the joy of my life - the pride of my heart - the bright suns in my morning - the glowing stars in my evening - the sweetest, most adorable, loving, kind, generous, caring, nurturing, funny, forgiving, wonderful souls on this planet --- were given to ME. And I cannot understand why but I accept this great gift. I can honestly say that I will never doubt their love for me. They show me daily in the actions and words. I feel it when I am with them. They treat me well, with respect and love. They give me far more than I have ever given to them. I am the most honored women in the world to have been blessed with these two particular souls to raise, nurture, and love. Any mother would be so happy to have them and yet - ME. I got them. I - am - blessed.

Nothing like a little friendly competition for Mother's Day!

So I finished posting about the roses, etc. and Little Lottie (9.5 hours) is thinking - "aint no stinkin' abandoning sister gonna outdo me" and suddenly I have a new skin for my blog!

Isn't it gorgeous?!?! Little Lottie (1.5 hours of pushing) had made her blog pretty by doing whatever magic she does at the computer and I begged her to do the same for me. She (no medication again unless you count the epidural they FINALLY decided to give me as I was in TRANSITION and had to lie perfectly still lest the one and a half foot needle puncture my spine and render me crippled for life) has spent the better part of the afternoon working on my skin and I LOVE IT!!!! Little Lottie (the epidural kicked in 20 minutes later right AFTER I pushed her out) is a computer genuis and I love her very, very, very, very much. She knows I love me some Snow White.

Oh yes, and she cleaned the house before I got home from work today! I LOVE MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I will take her to Blockbuster tonight since she was so sweet to me!

I love you, Webmonkey! :)
Love,
Mamma

And it begins!

Mother's Day, that is. See, in the Moron Family, holidays do not last for one day. Oh no. They are a minimum of three day celebrations and can often last up to seven days at a time! So now that it's Friday and I GOT FLOWERS DELIVERED TO SCHOOL FROM MY FIRST BORN, it's officially the start of Mother's Day WEEKEND.

This is a picture of my babies last year and their surprise for me as they served me breakfast. I LOVED IT! But this year, this is the first year away from Sweet Pea since she abandoned me and moved to Phoenix and got, like married and stuff. So what does my baby girl (18.5 hours of labor) do for her darling (3 solid hours of pushing) mother??? She (NO DRUGS, all natural birth, thankyouverymuch) sent me the most beautiful dozen pink roses in the WORLD! And... she was smart enough to send them to work cause everyone knows if you are going to get flowers you HAVE to get them at work so that people will come see you all day and ask WHO loves you enough to send you such beautiful flowers?!?!?

I will get a picture here of the flowers this weekend.

The point is - it's so thoughtful and wow... I can't wrap my head around the fact that I have a daughter old enough to have a job and the money to send me flowers! I cried because she loves me enough to do this, because it reminds me that my own mother is gone, because she was so thoughtful to send me flowers and because it's my first real gift that doesn't have macaroni glued on it. (Not that I didn't love the glued macaroni stuff!!!)

I love you, Sweet Pea.

Now get busy... Grandmother's Day is coming around the corner.
(giggle)
Love,
Mum
